caramel or carmel?

Caramel, or carmel, or whatever you want to call it, and I have always had a really complicated relationship. From those Werther’s mfers that are hard as rocks but made in a way that you instinctively want to chomp on them, to the melted sticky goo Smucker’s is shilling, I’ve got some pretty complicated feelings.

When I was in middle school I went to the movies and had milk duds for the first time. Little did I know, these carnivorous little caramels would attack and get stuck on my teeth, engulfing them in a hard sugary cement. Adolescent me tried to discreetly pick them from my teeth, as the cute boy sitting next to me was immersed in the film we were watching.

But then he turned, and there he saw me, fingers my mouth, trying to claw out the concrete caramel candy.

He would call me Chewy for the rest of the year.

But these caramels, man oh man. Tara’s All Natural Handcrafted Gourmet Sea Salt Caramel: Small Batch, Kettle Cooked, Creamy & Individually Wrapped, they are a world of their own. Creamy, soft, supple, AND they absolutely and reliably do not stick to your teeth. Flavorful, decadent, and made of the gods. A sugary sweet treat that won’t coin you an unshakeable nickname from the dreads of a teenage boy.

Do not fret when you get them in the mail though, the container is children’s size…..but you get what you pay for. These babies are the real deal.

things we stan: Tara’s all-natural sea salt caramels.

ps I say carmel because I’m from the midwest.
